Facebook launches real-time comments

Facebook is riding the 'real-time' train hard these days. Following yesterday's release of real-time Insights for page owners, it appears Facebook has now rolled out live commenting. 'Live', as in comments now update in real-time, without the need to refresh the page. Discovered by mistake by developer Jesse Stay, it seems like this only happens on your Feed or Profile pages. Many people have seen this in action on their profiles, but since Facebook has not issued an official announcement of the feature it's unclear whether this is the beginning of a worldwide roll-out, or just a small-time test.

Real-time comments are also available on Friendfeed, a service which Facebook acquired in 2009 and from which it was known to 'borrow' features even before that.
